From October 15th to June 27th, the National Air and Space Museum of France invites visitors to a new temporary exhibition dedicated to Artificial Intelligence. Combining interactivity, games and learning, visitors from 10 years and more can reflect on the scientific, technical, and societal issues related to the development of AI.

This project is part of a European partnership involving Universum (Germany), AHHAA Science Centre (Estonia), and Experimenta (Germany). A section of the exhibition is dedicated to AI for defence, created in collaboration with major French operators in tech innovation and defence.

An interactive and participative exhibition

Organised around five thematic sections, “Destination AI” invites visitors to explore the applications of AI across various fields, many of which are related to everyday life: knowledge, communication, creativity, perception, and movement. Through about 30 interactive modules including digital displays, hands-on activities, and fun experiments, everyone can get familiar with these technologies that are already shaping our world. Designed for making science accessible to everyone, the exhibition aims to explain sometimes complex concepts through concrete examples, real-life scenarios, and demonstrative experiments. To reinforce the participative aspect, a punch-card system gives visitors a way to express their opinions on the uses of AI and compare them with what other visitors think at the end of the exhibition. This exhibition is intentionally open-ended and non-linear so every visitor can have its own experience.

Suitable for children ages 10 and up to explore on their own, the exhibition offers several levels of challenges.

A section dedicated to AI to defense

AI has become indispensable in contemporary conflicts. This exhibition highlights how AI can be used in various ways for the armed forces while exploring the major issues that it raises. Spread over 160 m², this part of the exhibition features the growing role of AI as a tool to support armed forces and how embedded AI is transforming next generation military equipment into autonomous, collaborative, and high-performance platforms. Visitors also discover how AI enhances real-time planning decision-making capacity. Finally, the exhibition highlights the convergence between AI and cyber defence, which has become a major strategic issue for national security and sovereignty.
